  1. Beautifully done mate, there’s a really strong atmosphere with these guys, and your cloth is superb! What’s the secret? I’ve never managed to get cloth looking like that, despite several efforts ๐Ÿ˜ฆ

    1. Thank you ๐Ÿ™‚ It’s a technique I’m still trying to refine, because it’s a little unpredictable.
With these guys I started with a brown basecoat, followed by a heavy drybrush of cream. After that I smother the cloth areas in different patches of black and brown wash, and whilst it’s still very wet I lightly brush the same cream paint as before onto the model. It mixes with the wash and makes a nice variation in the shades, but still acts as a wash for the depth. Once that’s all dry (and it takes a little while) I go back and attack the edges with further washes and sponged on browns, blacks and very watered down red. It’s a little hard to describe to be honest, I hope that gets it across haha

      1. Ahhh! Ok, cool! I think I get it mate, that is different to how I’ve tried it before, so thanks man, I’ll give it a whirl! ๐Ÿ™‚

  2. Very nice – like Alex I’m curious about how you did the robes. Also love the ash affect on the on the guy at the bottom, almost looks like he’s survived being burned in his own suit – very grim but wonderfully pulled off.

    1. I’ve done my best to describe it on Alex’s post, but I don’t think it reads very well. See if you can decipher it :p
Whilst his heart is still beating I wouldn’t say he’s “survived”… He’s little more than a puppet now.
      Thank you!
