“For behold, I am going to raise up a shepherd in the land who will not care for the perishing, seek the scattered, heal the broken, or sustain the one standing, but will devour the flesh of the fat sheep and tear off their hoofs.”
++ Ancient Terran Ref. 11:16++
The Shepherd. The Guide. The Corpsegrinder. In the vast glistening halls of Terra he stands. An imposing figure of embroidered cloth and electric crook. The weak and the dying serve to stop the flock. They shall be moved by there own devices or by his hand. Neither nobility or religiosity matter; All are members of the human traffic, wheezing bodies clogging the runways and staining the gilded walls. Filth. He stands eternally, sweet sustenance coursing through rubberised veins.
This ended up going completely against the plan I had in my head for this group! I was originally building a band of worthless, degenerate pilgrims, but this member evolved into something more. Rather than fighting it, I embraced the changes. So now stands the Shepherd, the first member of my own small slice of Terra.
Please let me know what you think!
Wow, great piece! Looks like you changed the head, and I like it a lot. The only thing I wish was different was that there was something more done to the curved part of the crook, but that a small nitpick. The whole thing looks awesome. The red candles are a fantastic touch.

Thank you! It’s still the same head, but I tweaked it a little so the mechanical part didn’t stick out so much. Ideally I would of liked to make the crook look more like the traditional version but I just couldn’t find the part. In the end I just bent a pole under my lamp to get the rough shape 🙂

Amazing man!! Everything about this model, every detail, is spot on mate. Do you use Greenstuff or is it all just kitbash and carving/sculpting? Those candles look fantastic idea, never would have thought of candles but they work very well. One of my favourites now man.

Thank you! There’s quite a bit of greenstuff on this one, the fur, parchment and candles are all sculpted. I’m trying to push myself to sculpt more, I’ve seen people make incredible stuff and I’d like to be at that standard eventually!

Nice character! Loving those candles. Did you sculpt them?

Thank you! They were made by cutting up a dried roll of green stuff (the original plan was to use it as a wire but it was too thick) with a tiny piece of cotton superglued on top. I really like how they look so I’ll probably be adding them to a few of my models 🙂

Cheers 🙂 I really enjoyed doing the candles, I think I’ll make a few more devout weirdos to put them on.
